What’s new
Field Punch is in active development. We’re a small team shipping improvements constantly — here’s what’s landed recently and what we’re building next. Things will keep changing as we go.
July 2026
- Owner progress links — share a private, read-only live progress page with the homeowner. One link per job, revoke it anytime.
- Homeowners can now request punch items from that page during the one-year walkthrough window — requests land in your Inbox to accept or dismiss, never straight onto the list.
- A fresh coat of paint: the whole app moved to a flat, high-contrast light theme built for reading in the sun — and we're polishing it page by page.
- Pros can turn on push notifications for their portal on Android and desktop.
- The weekly digest now covers items you've assigned to yourself, too.
- Closeout packages got tighter: a cleaner, text-first signable summary, plus a desktop Print button for every generated PDF.
June 2026
- Closeout packages — generate a branded proof-of-completion summary of every punch item, and collect the owner's signature from a private link.
- Outbound email went live: the weekly digest and the one-tap punch-list email to any of your trades.
- Field Punch now speaks MCP — connect an AI assistant and it can list jobs, add punch items, and assign your trades for you.
May 2026
- Jobs now celebrate the moment every punch item is signed off — a 100%-done burst so closing out a job actually feels like finishing.
- Pro Portal polish: clearer reschedule and blocker buttons, bigger one-handed tap targets, and more legible status counts for working in the sun.
- Rebuilt the marketing site from the ground up with live product previews.
- Consolidated everything that needs your attention into a single Inbox — an approval queue plus an activity feed.
- Added an independent kill switch for outbound email so notifications stay quiet until you're ready to go live.
Earlier this spring
- Documents got a paper-trail redesign — every file grouped by jobsite, with in-app PDF markup, assignable pins, threaded comments, and version history.
- Passwordless Pro Portal: the emailed link is the login, no password to set or forget.
- Assignment auto-provisions a subcontractor's portal account and folds them into the job — no separate invite step.
- A unified calendar pulling inspections, deliveries, meetings, and site visits into one feed.
What we’re working on
- A 3-pane document viewer for desktop with a mobile bottom-sheet.
- Editing a single occurrence of a recurring calendar event.
- A first-run walkthrough for brand-new teams.
